Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Partnering Consultant Liberty Mutual exists to help people embrace today and confidently pursue tomorrow. Liberty Mutual's Office of DEI is looking for a Partnering Consultant to positively influence behaviors and mindsets. This professional with experience consulting and sharing DEI subject matter expertise will leverage their skills to develop and lead interventions and large-scale initiatives in multicultural DEI awareness and change. This DEI Partnering Consultant will provide DEI expertise and consulting to global leaders and talent partners. The Consultant will serve as a thought leader in DEI concepts and principles and provide consulting in the application of these concepts across the Liberty Mutual teams. Consulting responsibilities will include coaching, influencing, leading discussions, public speaking and facilitating programs to help drive DEI concepts and strategies down to the local level. Engagements might include advising multinational diversity councils or affinity groups, conducting executive development programs, running focus groups, launching community relations activities or consulting on recruitment strategies. Responsibilities

  • In partnership with DEI leadership, engages with stakeholders by advising, coaching, educating, and collaborating with leadership teams for sustainable, value-add initiatives and to achieve strategic outcomes.
  • Partners closely with the aligned DEI Business Advisory groups to lead efforts in support of DEI consulting needs across the enterprise, business units, investments group and corporate functions.
  • Leveraging DEI strategy and local needs, consults and advises on international strategic plans while supporting DEI Councils and other DEI entities.
  • May act as liaison to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in ensuring alignment with DEI framework and company priorities.
  • Acts as a DEI subject matter expert (SME) and utilizes data-driven HR and external business insights/networks and best practices to provide recommendations and activate solutions.
  • Stays abreast of current and future DEI trends, shaping business and competency development.
  • Assists with shaping solutions that draw the connection between diversity, inclusion and innovation for the company.
  • May represent the DEI team and Liberty overall through internal speaking events, public panels/events and blogging.
    • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
      Minimum of 10 years of progressive DEI experience with a highly, matrixed multinational company that includes managing ERGs and/or DEI councils, facilitating DEI learning curriculum, consulting on DEI concepts and principles.
    • Eight+ years of experience in the strategic, creative, and implementation of DEI initiatives, projects, and programming.
    • Proven history of independent consultation and influence at all levels of an organization, including senior leadership.
    • Experience influencing leaders through change and guiding others through their DEI journey. Understanding of DEI in the context of organizational and cultural change.
    • Client management and key stakeholder partnership experience with multicultural organizations and resources, internally and externally.
    • Experience researching best diversity practices, benchmarking, developing programs and presenting as a DEI subject matter expert.
    • Ability to travel approximately 30% of time in support of sponsored events.
