STATEMENT:Reporting to the Analytics Manager of the Decision
Support & Analytics team.The Financial Analyst II will work within
a small team to complete the monthly costing for a designated
hospital(s) within the Decision Support system and support the
associated analytics.Our department is part of the Strategy arm of
Mass General Brigham system and works closely with Business
Planning, Market Intelligence, Finance and local hospital budget
departments.Our team supports multiple projects and committees of
physician and administrative leaders, charged with identifying cost
and efficiency opportunities across Mass General Brigham. In
addition, this department supports other Finance projects such as
unit cost analysis, patient analysis and EPSI cost refinements. The
Decision Support system (EPSi) is a dynamic analytic software
system used for supporting decision-making at the individual
hospital entities and within Mass General Brigham as a
whole.Results are utilized in proposals for new programs,
expansions, initiatives regarding cost containment and controls,
departmental level flexible budgeting, variance analysis, and other
projects.Accordingly, this position allows for exposure to both
clinical and financial operations (the latter including Managerial
Accounting, Payroll & General Ledger), as well as interaction with
all related levels of personnel (analysts, clinicians & managers),
throughout the organization.Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business
Administration, Health Care Administration, Operations Research,
Public Health Administration, or other related fields. Excellent
verbal and written communication skills.1+ years experience in
financial analysis and/or management operations/project management,
preferably within a health care and or financial environmentSKILLS/
ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Strong commitment to customer

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform all duties that
pertain to EPSi (decision support system) monthly processing and
adhere to monthly processing deliverables by business day
deadlines, this includes reconciliations to source systems and
within our existing decision support system.Quarterly detailed data
integrity audits of department and patient database costs,
identifies issues, implement solutions, verify results within the
designated time frameActs as a liaison to the entity for all
decision support system related issues, data needs, and
updatesPlans and facilitates monthly entity meetings.Analyzes and
report on our costs to understand our cost structure and its
driversWorks with teams to identify cost opportunities. Acts as a
liaison, problem solver, and facilitator. Cultivates and reinforces
appropriate group values, norms, and behaviors. Works with IS,
Accounting and Budget office to facilitate the production and
receipt of all appropriate actual and budget data feeds on a timely
basis.Understand the relationships between the modules within the
decision support systemUnderstand and can communicate all aspects
of flexible budget reporting Update procedure documentation as
needed for process improvements identifiedMonthly and Quarterly
reports completed accurately and on-timeManages customer/system
user requests independentlyTroubleshoot and resolve any interfacing
data discrepancies that arise during processingReconcile and update
clinical department cost standards, monitor data by performing
multiple trend analyses, and make recommendations for solutions.
Provide analytical support for special projects or data
requestsDemonstrate commitment to Service ExcellencePrepare
presentations and ad hoc reports for support for special projects
