Job Description - Senior Accounting Analyst (Hybrid) (3217274) Senior Accounting Analyst (Hybrid) - ( 3217274 ) The Senior Accounting Analyst serves as the lead financial contact for Academic and Clinical Funds including Sundry, Agency, and Institutional Services Agreements. Works closely with all levels within Mass General Brigham and affiliate organizations to establish, monitor, report and close out funds. Support sponsored program audits and development of systems and tools to enhance fund management resources at the Department level.

  • Utilizes and interprets fund data available through PeopleSoft, Insight and Vision FMS
  • Understanding of business processes and transaction flow to support external sponsored program audits
  • Coordinate audit requests, communicate declines and monitor progress
  • Identifies exceptions and proposes action steps to facilitate adherence to the organization's policies and procedures system wide
  • Maintains strong solid understanding of Mass General Brigham and department Policies and SOPs applicable to fund management
  • Successful interprets and communicate policies and SOP guidelines
  • Liaison to Fund Managers, Research Finance, Controllers, Finance Managers, and all ffiliated financial staff for fund activity
  • Finds opportunities for operational improvement, provide detailed recommendations to management and implement departmental opportunities system wide
  • Setup, monitor and actively work to close out funds
  • Responsible for monthly fund deficit communication and reporting of subsequent resolution
  • Review and process journal entries
  • Coordinate monthly invoicing of Institutional Agency Funds
  • Promotes service excellence
  • All functions performed within time critical, fiscal performance deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required. CPA or MBA a plus. -
    • Four to six years of work experience in Fund accounting required. Audit experience preferred.
    • Healthcare experience a plus. Skills and Abilities:
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to research issues and process complex transactions and procedures
      • Excellent oral & written communications skills along with confidence and experience in presenting to small groups
      • Ability to work independently and manage competing and conflicting demands on time
      • Experience in translating and communicating key analyses and assumptions to Senior Management for decision-making
      • Self-motivated team player that can manage multiple processes and effectively lead project teams
      • Professionalism demeanor when working with all constituents both internally and externally
      • Strong Microsoft Office and Outlook skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
      • Familiarity with accounting systems, PeopleSoft G/L a strong plus Other responsibilities and details:
        • No direct reports; may indirectly provide leadership and guidance to less seasoned and new staff
        • No direct budgetary responsibility
        • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by hybrid using Mass General Brigham resources
        • This position is currently hybrid remote. May be required, on occasion, to travel into the office due to business needs.
        • Possible local travel to Mass General Brigham sites
