Job Description:

The City of Somerville is looking for individuals to join the Equity and Recovery Outreach Team, focused on COVID-19 recovery efforts in the city. The Equity and Recovery Outreach Worker for Residents of Public Housing -will help disseminate information and connect community members to resources that will aid in their post-pandemic recovery, including housing, food access, financial support, employment, trainings, and health. The Equity Outreach and Recovery workers would support community outreach efforts in particular to traditionally under considered and marginalized populations including residents of public housing.Methods of outreach will include but are not limited to event tabling, community walk-abouts/roaming, office hours, drop-ins at partner organizations/businesses, distributing flyers, phone-based outreach, leading focus groups, and door-knocking.The positions require a commitment of 16 hours of work a week on average, through June 30th, 2023.Recommended Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent plus two (2) or more years of directly relevant experience engaging with vulnerable populations and connecting them to services.
  • Must be 18+ to applyHours: Part-Time (16 hours a week through June 30th, 2023 / not benefits eligible)
