leading healthcare organization is seeking a hands-on Assistant
Controller to oversee accounting operations, including general
accounting, accounts payable, and cash management and gift/grant
accounting. This role supports the Controller in maintaining a
strong internal control environment, improving financial processes,
and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Team Leadership &
Operations: Lead service-oriented teams in accounting, AP, and
treasury operations. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure
efficient processes and accurate financial reporting. Supervise
leaders in core financial functions and support team development
and training. Internal Controls & Policy Development: Support the
Controller in maintaining a robust internal control environment.
Develop, document, and standardize policies in accordance with GAAP
and industry best practices. Review and update policies annually,
with a focus on efficiency and automation. Financial Oversight &
Reporting: Assist in the monthly close process, including journal
entry review and financial statement preparation. Provide detailed
variance analysis for monthly reporting to senior leadership.
-Support regulatory reporting and audit activities, both internal
and external. Cash Management & Integration: Collaborate with
treasury on cash flow management and optimization of banking
relationships. Facilitate the integration of newly acquired
entities into financial operations. Systems & Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements in financial systems (e.g.,
Infor, Workday) and processes. Promote efficiency, accuracy, and
system optimization across finance functions. Other Duties: Partner
with the Controller on special projects, initiatives, and ad hoc
financial analyses. Build strong relationships with internal and
external stakeholders to support organizational goals. Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
required. Master’s degree preferred. CPA required. Experience:
Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience,
preferably in healthcare or a related industry. At least 5 years of
leadership or supervisory experience. Strong familiarity with
financial reporting and regulatory compliance. Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems. Strong analytical,
organizational, and communication skills. Deep knowledge of
internal controls, audit processes, and GAAP. Proven ability to
manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across
departments. Awareness of process improvement and automation best
