Located in the heart of Boston's Back Bay, the College is a small, independent graduate institution that currently enrolls students from 34 states and 8 countries. The College has its primary didactic teaching location at 424 Beacon Street, Boston and an additional Clinical Training Center located within the largest of its three owned and operated eye clinics (Boston-Commonwealth).The New England College of Optometry (NECO) Clinical Network is the patient care and clinical education subsidiary of the New England College of Optometry and encompasses a wide network of local, national and international sites throughout which our students do their clinical training. As one of the largest providers of optometric services in Massachusetts, our faculty and students provide optometric services to nearly 90,000 patients annually in more than 43 locations, including many of Greater Boston's community health centers.Assistant Professor of Clinical OptometryThe New England College of Optometry (NECO) Clinical Network invites applications to join the professional staff as an attending optometrist and clinician educator. We are seeking a doctor interested who has a keen interest in providing clinical care in the community health center setting at the North End Waterfront Health Center (NEW Health) and Codman Square Health Center. This person should have a desire to teach tomorrow's optometrists the principles of optometric and interdisciplinary care. Other responsibilities may include vision screenings and teaching laboratory courses.Our mission is to improve the vision and eye health of populations through excellence in collaborative and community-oriented patient care, service, education, and research. A NECO health center optometrist is an exceptionally qualified doctor of optometry and clinician-educator who works in a dynamic team-oriented, multidisciplinary non-profit eye care network serving the vision and eye health needs of populations in greater Boston. Clinical attending optometrists are also faculty members that have teaching appointments with NECO, and thus advance both the service and teaching missions.
