General Summary/Overview Statement Enterprise Monitoring team provides in-depth understanding of a wide variety of applications and services that reside on the Mass General Brigham Network. This candidate will provide network services at the highest technical level for remote hospital sites and work with various ITS support groups to ensure superior application performance and network stability. This position primary focus will be the administration and support of Stealthwatch application and support for Command Center monitoring team. Acts as the primary liaison between Infrastructure Technology Services (ITS) and network management tool vendors, Mass General Brigham back office support groups, and applications teams. Provides knowledge of network management tools, designs and plans the presentation of data to improve the efficiency of Mass General Brigham in performing daily operations and proactive monitoring of the network. The candidate may assist in troubleshooting of network-related problems and monitoring of the network Command Center Environment provides Infrastructure monitoring for all Event & Incident Management. Our Team provides (CSI) Continued service Improvement by reducing Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) & Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) by monitoring our top KPI's. This team is responsible for administration, and support of all Partners Routers/Switching and Wireless Infrastructure located within the Mass General Brigham (NDM or MDC) The successful candidate will be supporting the following network management and monitoring systems/protocols - Stealthwatch, Netreo, Dartware Intermapper, Cisco Prime, ExtraHop, Splunk, IP SLA, MPLS fault monitoring, NetFlow collection, syslog collection, MIB and SNMP trap collection. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Command Center Manager, provides skilled technical support to in-house IS staff, user departments, and third-party liaisons.
  • Provides consulting services at the highest technical level for remote hospital sites; works with various IS departments to ensure superior application performance and network stability.
  • Monitors network traffic to ensure optimum uptime and performance in a proactive manner.
  • Acts as primary liaison between other groups and ITS for network management and monitoring
  • Occasional after hours and weekend work to perform tasks that cannot be done during business hours.
  • Provides on-call support to troubleshoot any NMS system related issues.
  • Work with vendors to evaluate, install and support new as well as existing network management systems and products.
  • Manage upgrades of network management products, servers and Operating Systems to maintain the integrity of network management systems and products.
  • Individual will mentor colleagues on NMS / SNMP design, architecture and industry best practices. Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
    • 5 years' experience in the networking and/or computer systems field
    • Experience in managing vendor accounts from a technical perspective
    • Technical experience in a Cisco LAN/WAN environment and Network Management System experience Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required
      • 3 years of Cisco Stealthwatch experience is required
      • Must possess excellent communication skills
      • Expertise and experience with fault, performance, trend, config, network reporting management and/or monitoring platforms
      • Knowledge in several of the following areas: Perl, Python, Unix, SNMP, SYSLOG, SNMP TRAPS, IEEE 802.3, 802.11 standards, routing, LAN switching, firewall/ACLs, DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP.
      • Working knowledge of Stealthwatch, Netreo, Watch4Net SRM, SNMP, syslog and NetFlow a must
      • Knowledge of IP SLA, NCS, MPLS and VoIP familiarity desirable
      • Cisco hardware and software (IOS)
      • Experience with SNMP, networking tools, fault, performance, event correlation, workflow, security and reporting
      • Additional knowledge including Operating Systems experience with specific emphasis on Cisco IOS, UNIX, Linux and Microsoft products as well as experience deploying, configuring and operating the following: Dartware Intermapper, Infoblox DNS/DHCP.
      • Ability to work independently or with a team
      • Ability to multitask and prioritize work requirements
      • Excellent interpersonal skills
      • Project Management knowledge is a plus
      • Experience with Service Now ticketing system is a plus
      • CCNP Cisco Certification
      • Web technology knowledge and/or experience is a plus Working Conditions
        • On site Command Center
        • On-call 7 x 24 (Primary on-call approx once every 8 weeks for one week, secondary on-call otherwise)
        • VPN access from home as needed
        • Attend meetings as required
        • Occasional travel within Eastern Mass (Inside Rte 128)
        • Heavy lifting of equipment as needed
