General Overview Historically, wellbeing programs at MGB have been locally driven, uncoordinated, and have received insufficient funding and focus. The Wellbeing Program Manager is a newly created position to support a key element of Mass General Brigham's enterprise-wide commitment to making MGB a great place to work. -
- You will be responsible for developing our strategy and managing our Employee Wellbeing Programs and associated initiatives for roughly 80,000 benefits and non-benefits eligible employees enterprise wide. With oversight of the Vice President of Benefits, the Program Manager will develop a comprehensive, multi-year strategy and will design, measure, and manage Physical, Mental, Financial and Social wellbeing programs while constantly striving to innovate beyond traditional benefit solutions. You will work closely with your colleagues in the Benefits Center of Excellence as well as MGB's internal EAP, Talent Management COE, Population Health, Internal Communications teams. The individual will conduct projects with limited guidance and will informally manage the work product of Benefit Analysts.
- The Program Managers in the Benefits COE have direct areas of responsibility, and also collaborate as part of a broader team of benefits experts to support MGB's overall benefit strategy as directed by the Vice President of Benefits. -
- Principal Duties and Responsibilities Strategy -
--- Develop and continually refine MGB's enterprise-wide wellbeing strategy with input and from key stakeholders. Ensure wellbeing programs are well-rounded and address all areas including Physical, Mental, Financial and Social.
--- Conduct research on current trends and vendor solutions and make recommendations for program enhancements.
--- Develop business case (qualitative and quantitative) to support recommended investments in wellbeing programs.
--- Help build an understanding among key leadership groups about the impact of wellbeing strategies on employee engagement and productivity, as well as key outcomes. -
--- Develop and execute strategy for measuring the effectiveness and outcomes from MGB's wellbeing programs. Project Management & Collaboration
--- Lead all activities for wellbeing benefit programs and vendors, and partner with individuals who are coordinating locally driven efforts.
--- Project manage implementation of new wellbeing programs.
--- Partner with HR Operations, as needed, to ensure effective and timely handling of operations related to wellbeing program (e.g., vendor file processing and bill payment process are accurate).
--- Partner with Mass General Brigham's Population Health team and internal medical administrator to drive innovative solutions that deliver high-quality cost-effective care to employee health plan members.
--- Stay informed of local wellbeing initiatives to promote collaboration and avoid redundancy and proactively address areas creating employee confusion. Communications
--- Develop and execute robust communication strategies, often with the support of Internal Communications, to improve employee awareness of, and engagement with, wellbeing offerings.
--- Advance our wellness platform leveraging our technology to create a "front door" for all employees to browse and gain understanding of our programs. Team Participation
--- Actively contribute as a member of the Benefits COE on other projects as assigned.
--- At this time, it is not expected that this role will have direct reports. However, this individual must be able to lead through influence and able to collaboratively direct and evaluate the work of others. -
--- Develop, mentor and coach team members; assist with the development of team members, enhancing their knowledge and expertise in Wellbeing strategies.
--- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning, intellectual curiosity, and team camaraderie. Qualifications Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
--- Bachelor's degree.
--- Six or more years of experience working with Employee Wellbeing initiatives. Preferred Qualifications
--- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Health Management or related field.
--- Ten or more years of experience working with Employee Benefits in a large, complex organization with multiple stakeholders and decision makers.
--- Familiarity with a data warehouse, preferably IBM. Skills, Abilities, Competencies --- --- Passionate about employee wellbeing, including desire to learn about emerging trends and what has worked at other organizations that we can leverage at Mass General Brigham.
--- Combination of strategic thinking and action orientation; making incremental progress now, while staying focused on the long-term strategy is critical.
--- Ability to lead change management efforts while respecting the organization's culture.
--- Strong collaboration, communication skills and project management skills.
--- Demonstrable track record of effectively working in an ambiguous environment, and able to prioritize efforts and deliver results. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-changing environment.
--- Strong analytical capabilities, as well as experience interpreting the data and "telling a story."
--- Demonstrate superior organizational and project management skills, including the ability to work independently on projects of high complexity with minimal supervision. Track record of implementing innovative solutions.
--- Team-oriented with the ability to build deep relationships and earn the respect of others.
--- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (ability to speak C-suite language).
--- Ability to be assertive when working with external vendors.
--- Must be proactive in identifying problems and swift in resolving them.
--- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint. Position is considered hybrid remote; ability to commute to in Assembly Row in Somerville, MA as well as ability to work remotely.
