Job Description:
Fusion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: FUSN) is a clinical-stage
oncology company focused on developing next-generation
radiopharmaceuticals as precision medicines to treat a broad range
of cancers. Employing its platform technology, including
proprietary Fast-Clear linker, Fusion connects alpha particle
emitting isotopes to antibodies and other targeting molecules in
order to selectively deliver the payloads to tumors. Fusion's lead
program, FPI-1434, is currently in a Phase 1 clinical trial. The
Company is growing a pipeline of precision oncology therapies in
development, and recently announced a collaboration agreement with
AstraZeneca. Following Fusion's June 2020 IPO, the Company has cash
to fund operations into 2024.This key leadership position will be
responsible for executing strategic and operational plans to
advance the Company's growing pipeline of radiopharmaceuticals. The
candidate will have to collaborate closely with the internal study
team and the clinical trial sites and their staffs, NRC and
Agreement State regulators and other key stakeholders to help
advance and optimize Fusion's clinical programs to deliver the best
possible outcomes for patients. The qualified candidate should have
knowledge in the areas of radiobiology and radiation physics,
radiation safety relevant to expanding Fusion's opportunities. They
will work with our scientific team to drive to the next phase of
incorporating R&D into novel and exciting therapeutic
combinations. This individual will provide medical physics support
to the development of new imaging agents throughout the
preclinical, clinical and post-marketing phases. The key
responsibility is the scientific and technical support of clinical
trials exploring new diagnostic and therapeutic
radiopharmaceuticals. The qualified medical physicist must be
familiar with State and Federal regulations that mandate that
nuclear medicine quality-control (QC) and quality assurance (QA)
activities. Responsibilities: Review and optimization of imaging
protocols, relevant imaging manuals, including review of parameters
for image acquisition and reconstruction, radiation dose
determination, and protocol dose managementSetting the requirements
for the execution of imaging at clinical sites, including providing
"hands on" technical support to study sitesProvide training,
teaching, and problem-solving solutions to internal and external
clinical study teams in order to meet the needs of the studyWork
with key relevant, external thought leaders and/or vendors to
review, analyze and tabulate patient data generated from ongoing
studiesWork on growth and development of direct
reportsRequirements:PhD in Medical Physics, Physics, Biomedical
Engineering or related discipline required License American Board
of Radiology required., or DPH RAD Required1-3 years pharmaceutical
industry experience requiredStrong physics background and
experience in Nuclear Medicine imaging techniquesExperience with
personalized dosimetryAdvanced technical computer skills and
thorough understanding of modern electronic infrastructures
relevant to radiological imaging such as DICOM, PACS, RIS/HIS
frameworks, IHE models, Web and database servers, client/server
architectures, CAD, image processing and advanced
visualizationAdvanced technical computer skills as required for
technical support specific to functional area and related
systemsExpertise in image reconstruction and data analysis
Understanding of imaging-related project needs as expressed in a
clinical study protocolAbility to translate clinical endpoints to
an imaging strategy Experience drafting study imaging manual and
training materialExperience with radioactive materials license
amendment process with the NRC and Agreement StatesAbility to
assist clinical sites with radiation safety questions and concerns
with the use of diagnostic and therapeutic
radiopharmaceuticalsFamiliar with Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)
