Job Description:

Candlewick Press, a leading publisher of books for children located in Somerville, MA, seeks a Social Media Manager to join our talented team. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for marketing and promoting our titles on our corporate social media channels, as well as some of our imprint channels, as well as develop and execute engaging and creative title and brand campaigns on our social channels. They will work closely with the SVP of Commercial Operations and the Marketing department to develop social media strategies for our frontlist and backlist titles and properties.Responsibilities include:
--- Administering Candlewick's corporate social channels, as well as those of most of our imprints
--- Developing creative and engaging book and brand campaigns with the goal of increasing our followers
--- Collaborating with Marketing and Publicity to ensure our social efforts enhance and amplify theirs
--- Scheduling and creating content for our channels
--- Tracking and analyzing stats, and producing monthly performance reports
--- Identifying sponsorship opportunities and partners for collaborations and campaigns
--- Working closely with the admins of the Candlewick school and library social channels
--- Staying on top of trends and communicating those internally
--- Communicating any changes to platform performance or reporting internally, and maintaining guidelines for each platform
--- Being available to offer our authors and illustrators advice with their social efforts
--- Maintaining a calendar of dates with events, holidays, national days, anniversaries, etc. with promotional opportunities for our titles
--- Supporting Candlewick's participation at conferences, festivals, and events
--- Working with Candlewick's partners to help amplify their efforts
--- Collaborating with Walker Books UK and Walker Books Australia on campaigns for shared properties and titlesRequired Skills and Experience Include:- A minimum of 5 years social media experience- Ability to develop social media strategies and execute creative campaigns- Experience creating a variety of content relevant to each platform- Familiarity with social media measurement and scheduling tools- A proactive and organized approach to work- Excellent presentation and communication skills- The ability to work independently and collaboratively with others- Publishing experience is preferred but not required- Fluency in Spanish preferredThis is a full-time position based in our Somerville, MA office (hybrid work arrangements will soon be available for eligible roles).
