Part of the GRS North America organization, North America Specialty (NAS) offers specialty insurance products to retail and wholesale brokers under the Liberty Mutual and Ironshore brands. We are looking for Underwriting Enablement Director to join the NAS Operations team.This new director will align to the Financial Lines profit center and manage priority initiatives that are both operational and strategic in nature. They will work closely with leaders within the underwriting profit centers as well as cross-functionally with operations, product, claims, actuarial, distribution, and underwriting to solve complex, and sometimes ambiguous problems. They will be called upon to manage key initiatives, perform analysis, set strategic direction, and drive execution on efforts that impact growth and/or profitability within the segment. We are looking for someone who is able to drive work with a solution-oriented mindset and act both independently and as part of a team where required.Acting as a member of the Operations leadership team with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the President of Financial Lines, you will be expected to develop thought-partner relationships with key leaders, and drive initiatives that impact the Financial Lines profit center.Job Responsibilities:Manage functional analyses and cross - functional integration required to support strategic business decisions, in the areas of: strategic planning, competitive differentiation, operating models, and product and underwriting strategy.Lead overall strategy segment initiatives and supervise assigned strategy analysts in various projects and analyses, ensuring quality of work and proper communication among project members.Collaborate closely with segment leadership in Product, and key leads for distribution and claims to help identify business issues that drive additional initiatives and proactive analyses.Design plan for projects and analyses in support of functional executives.Perform business analysis and evaluate the impact of alternative management decisions on function and financial performance.Work with profit center leadership to identify project opportunities that add value to NAS Specialty Casualty's growth and profitability goals. Forms business case and provides recommendations to NAS Financial Lines leadership teamAdvanced level of knowledge of financial analysis, marketing, technology, strategic planning, managementStrong written and oral communication skills to aid in interactions with senior management, other departments, and industryCapabilities required include resiliency, adaptability, self-confidence, organized, achievement-orientated, collaborative, and openness to new experiencesKnowledge, skills are other capabilities are typically acquired through an MBA or equivalent and at least 10 years experience, some which should be in a top-tier strategy consulting roleAt Liberty Mutual, our purpose is to help people embrace today and confidently pursue tomorrow.
