) Mass General Brigham (MGB) is an integrated academic health care
system, uniting great minds to solve the hardest problems in

continuum of care across a system of academic medical centers,

physician networks, community health centers, home care, and

MGB is one of the nation's leading biomedical research
organizations and a principal teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical
School. General Overview As Mass General Brigham pursues its
strategy to become the integrated academic health care system of
the future, with patients at its center, it is establishing a
Diversified Business Division to further support its mission of
care delivery, research, education, and community health. The
Diversified Business Division will be an operating segment within
Mass General Brigham, alongside the current care delivery, research
and innovation, and health insurance parts of the enterprise.
Reporting to the Mass General Brigham Chief Financial Officer and
Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer, the Mass General Brigham
SVP of Diversified Businesses is responsible for developing,
growing and overseeing the performance of the portfolio of MGB's
Diversified Business Division. Principal Duties and
Responsibilities - At launch, the Diversified Business Division
will consist of the existing Specialty Pharmacy, Global Advisory,
and Clinical Artificial Intelligence Development businesses,
together responsible for nearly $750M of current revenue. The SVP
will be responsible for developing and executing on a strategic
plan to grow and optimize the Diversified Business Division through
the development of new businesses, growth and optimization of
existing businesses, and management of any relevant acquired
businesses over time. Specific Responsibilities: - 1. Working in
collaboration with the SVP of Strategy, define a multi-year
strategy for this part of the business that meets the health
system's strategic and financial objectives
2. Working with the support of the MGB business development
analytics team, develop and launch each new business:
a. Develop the overall business plan for each business, considering
MGB capabilities, product market fit, investment profile and
business case, and portfolio synergies
b. Work with Finance on how best to fund/finance the business and
to take the plan through the appropriate internal and board
approval processes
c. Launch each business by developing its operating plan, hiring
its leader, and setting performance goals and metrics -
3. Evaluate, refresh and optimize each existing business and each
new business once launched
a. Evaluate and, with the business leader, refine the business case
for each business
b. Evaluate and, with the business leader, refine the business and
operating plans for each business
c. Evaluate the leader of each business, and make adjustments, as
needed
d. Evaluate the performance and strategy of the business, and make
adjustments, as needed, in collaboration with the business
leader
e. Evaluate the performance goals and metrics for each business and
make adjustments, as needed, with the business leader
4. Manage the performance of the overall portfolio and the
performance of each business in it -
5. Manage the leaders for each of the businesses
6. Develop a small support team and the systems, processes and
tools that will be used across the businesses
7. Determine the most effective ways any operational functions (for
example, product development, sales/BD) might be built and provided
across the businesses and if and how support functions (for
example, legal, marketing) will be shared
8. Over time, lead any non-clinical business acquired by MGB by
evaluating, refreshing, and optimizing those businesses as
appropriate
9. Periodically refresh the multi-year strategy for the diversified
businesses unit
10. Other duties, as required
The SVP will shape and run this unit and be expected to roll up
their sleeves and actively do the work described above, while also
enabling their leaders to do the same for each of the portfolio
businesses. They will work closely with leaders across the system,
partners and potential partners, and outside advisors. The SVP be a
play a critical role in charting and effecting MGB's future growth
and financial success. Qualifications - --- Bachelor's Degree
required; MBA preferred
--- 10+ years of experience in business development, business
operations, and product development; Healthcare experience
preferred
--- Proven experience of developing market strategies to accelerate
the start-up and success of new businesses and to grow existing
businesses -
--- Demonstrates agility and ability to easily adapt to changes and

--- Executive level leadership in high-growth environments.

Three to five direct reports who lead businesses with teams (total
team size > 100 individuals); teams will grow over time through
addition of new businesses and cross-business capabilities Fiscal

resources
--- Ensures direct reports demonstrate the same high level of
fiscal responsibility and financial stewardship --- Local travel to
Mass General Brigham sites; regional, national and International
travel required
