Job Description:
The Senior Manager, Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI) is
responsible for the direct management of 8-12 full-time employees,
as well as consulting resources where necessary for larger
projects. The incumbent will manage team resources, and the execute
on analytics projects which span multiple departments across our
entire health systems.
The manager oversees our data and analytics dissemination to
institutions and departments across the organization on our
enterprise reporting platform and Tableau infrastructure. The
manager will ensure accurate and quality reporting of hospital data
through these platforms, and devise strategies to improve the
dissemination of these data in a quality manner that meets the
department's standards.
The manager provides administrative leadership for the realization
of our analytics strategy as it pertains to our broader
organizational goals. This includes organizing projects, scrum
teams, and workgroups, as needed, to achieve timely resolution to
issues and to achieve goals; working closely with internal
stakeholders, Digital leadership, as well as Mass General Brigham
stakeholders. The senior manager will work toward moving forward
the vision and strategy of data driven decision making
disseminating business intelligence and end user visualizations
throughout our complex, multi-campus organization.
The Senior Manager, (EBI) has the responsibility of expanding
Tableau reporting from basic reporting and dashboarding to
predictive and prescriptive analytics. The manager will onboard
full-time and consulting resources to manage the development of
data visualizations.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities

- Manages 6-12 full-time staff consisting of business
intelligence developers. Oversees recruitment, training,
professional development, and evaluation of staff.
- Establishes, refines and implements a vision and strategy for
disseminated performance metrics & analytics across the MGB
organization.
- Elicits data and reporting requirements from hospital
administrators, clinicians, and other staff, using interviews,
document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, use cases,
scenarios, data analysis, task, and workflow analysis
- Performs analysis of existing data sources and reports within
the electronic medical record, MGB Snowflake, Data Lake, and other
internal and external data sources available in order to provide
suggestions on strategy and tactical matters based on knowledge of
available data and reports
- Identify and implement improvements in analytics and data
delivery to MGB staff by leveraging knowledge of business
intelligence, data warehousing and healthcare analytics.
- Manage the implementation of a multi-year project to roll out
Tableau dashboards to staff at all levels, including
provider/surgeon performance dashboards in order to drive
improvement in transparency, cost, and quality for MGB as a
whole
- Responsible for managing project budgets, to deliver on
analytics projects which require the deployment of temporary
consultant resources
- Facilitate with Digital senior leaders, which includes key
analytics stakeholders across MGB to make decisions about the role,
strategy, and further implementation of analytics across MGB
- Manage project dependencies and timelines while reporting
status and issues and risks to appropriate audiences
- Collaborates with other MGB departments as needed, on an
ongoing basis
- Represents MGB Digital on internal and external committees or
task forces as needed
- Ensure comprehensive Quality Assurance, and adequate
documentation of programs, applications, and operational procedures
as part of a project rollout
- As needed, lead team to perform data analysis against hospital
systems such as Enterprise Data Warehouse, Azure data Lake, MS SQL
Server databases, Epic tools, external websites, and Business
Intelligence platforms in order to glean meaningful insights and
produce actionable reports for DAO customers
- Works with new and existing EBI developers to share knowledge
in methods of data analysis, summarization and presentation. Trains
other analysts and end-users on key analytic and reporting systems
and databases Qualifications
Qualifications
- Master degree preferred with two plus years of healthcare
management or related experience; or
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or comparable required with
five plus years of healthcare management or related experience

- Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate
with cross functional teams including staff at all levels of the
organization
- Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others
of different skill sets, backgrounds an levels within and external
to the organization
- Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to effectively conduct meetings, both formal and
informal
- Requires minimal direction from leadership and possesses the
ability to learn quickly Working Conditions
- Currently, this position is 100% remote due to COVID-19. In the
future, this position will have the opportunity for up to 80%
remote work with some in office presence required.
- Possible local travel to Mass General Brigham sites
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
frequently required to sit; talk; or hear; use hands to finger;
handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is
occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop; kneel; or crouch.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and
occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, distance
vision and depth perception.
