Medical Assistants provide clinicalsupport focusing on customer satisfaction and teamwork. Thisposition may require working some evenings, Saturdays andoccasional holidays. Job Duties: Actively and efficiently managethe flow of patients through the clinic. Actively communicate withpatients to set expectations, i.e., wait times and what to expectduring the visit. Pre-visit chart medical record preparation andinformation gathering to optimize the visit. Room patients, assistsproviders with medical histories, appropriate documentation in theelectronic health record, check routine vital signs. Perform pointof care testing. Perform screening questionnaires and pain scoresas needed. Initiate team huddles and participate in team/departmentmeetings. Assist providers with clinical procedures. Participate inprocess improvement initiatives. Update computerized reminders andsnapshot. Review and update overdue health maintenance and openorders. Book screening tests as part of the outreach process (e.g., mammograms, colonoscopies) and occasionally books follow upappointments (e.g., well child visits, vaccine booster visits).Participates in proactive population management of chronic diseasesby generating MyCHArt messages, sending templated letters, andcalling patients by telephone. Tracks completion of certain patienttests. Participate in shared medical appointments, includingrecording history and findings into the electronic health record.Participates in the education of students and residents byexplaining the MA role and allowing observation of their work fortraining purposes. Qualifications: Graduation from an accreditedmedical assistant program; current experience as a MedicalAssistant and AHA BLS required. Knowledge of a second language ispreferred. [cha111813]
