SomervilleDEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:Summary:
The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for planning
and providing patient care for patients in accordance with
established Nursing Standards of Care. He/she demonstrates
initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient
with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability
to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for
the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nursing care
and is directly reports to a designated nurse manager and/or
clinical manager / off shift manager.Responsibilities:
Collaboration:
Identifies own strengths, limitations, and values in functioning as

patient and participates fully in interdisciplinary forums that
promote an integrated approach to patient care, e.g.
multidisciplinary rounds, team meetings

developing the plan of care for a patient or group of patients

related documentation standards
Adheres to department documentation standards and uses data from
electronic record to guide patient care
Uses available technologies to support and enhance patient care,
e.g., smart pumps, call bell system, EPIC reports, smart phrases,
acuity tools, etc
Technical and Procedural Skills
Demonstrates appropriate procedural /technical competence specific
to practice area ( Unit / Clinic Specific Competencies & required
certifications and work experience)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Other information:
All newly hired RN candidates must have a BSN degree within 1 year
of hire
Licensure: MA. RN Licensure required
Certifications: Maintains current Basic Life Support "C"
certification
