Collaboration. General Overview Program Manager will lead portfolio
of activities aimed at building and strengthening health care
infrastructure for readiness to deliver high quality, equitable
care. Program activities to include improving demographic data
capture processes and deploying process for patients/staff to
report instances of racism in clinical settings, as well as other
key initiatives including responding to external health equity
policy and regulatory requirements, eliminating racialized medicine
and equity informed clinical policy review. Principal Duties and
Responsibilities
- Partner with Health Equity leadership to guide and develop
strategy, policy and measurement for general United Against Racism
(UAR) functions and health equity programming
- Support data accuracy work: expansion from adult primary care
to pediatrics, specialty care and inpatient care; expansion from
focus on Race, Ethnicity, and Language (REaL) data to include
Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) and
disability/accommodations data collection; and development and
tracking of data accuracy reports for external regulatory
requirements)
- Manage the development of health equity strategies and drive
the creation of programming related to SOGI and disability, engage
with the Health Equity team and other internal stakeholders,
providing insights related to SOGI, and disability to inform Health
Equity activities across MGB
- Support deployment of processes and policies related to
responding to incidents of racism or discrimination, including
supporting a team that manages trainings for staff. Develop
reporting and accountability measurement plan
- Provide administrative management support to set project plans
to meet milestones; prepare and interpret data to inform leadership
decisions to improve patient outcomes; convene stakeholders and
present data for decision making; prepare internal and external
reports based on insights
- Other work as assigned and may include supporting review of
clinical policy from equity-informed lens, removing use of clinical
calculators with race adjustment, support crafting external
advocacy policy positions, development of partnership opportunities
for payor contracts, etc. Qualifications
- BS degree required and Master's preferred
- 3 to 5 years prior relevant experience -
- A combination of education and experience may be substituted
for requirement
- Strong interpersonal skills to enable collaboration across MGB
enterprise
- High degree of initiative and enthusiasm for learning new
concepts and working with new tools and sources of information
- Demonstrated commitment to health equity, antiracism, social
justice causes, or community development
- Bilingual capabilities are a plus Skills/Abilities/Competencies

- Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate
with cross functional teams including staff at all levels of the
organization
- Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others
of different skill sets, backgrounds and levels within and external
to the organization
- Ideal candidate would have background in one or both areas:
- Development or implementation of training programs within
HealthStream application
- Analyzing and developing responses to healthcare policy and
regulatory requirements
- Project Management: excellent organizational skills, attention
to detail and ability to work autonomously. Ability to set
priorities; manage multiple tasks and projects; and set and meet
deadlines
- Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to effectively conduct meetings, both formal and
informal -
- Requires minimal direction from leadership and possesses the
ability to learn quickly
