MNA SomervilleDEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:The--ENDO/GI Center at
Somerville Hospital--helps patients with a variety of digestive
disorders. It includes a state-of-the-art endoscopy suite with four
procedure rooms. Some of the procedures we perform include the
following: Colonoscopy, Upper Endoscopy, ERCP, 24 hour PH
Monitoring, Capsule Endoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and
Esophageal Motility.The Endoscopy/Gastroenterology nurse--knows and
understands the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of
nursing service. Clinical nursing leadership at Cambridge Health
Alliance is manifested by personal commitment, accountability, and
initiative in clinical practice. Patients are our priority. It is
the clinical nurse who assists patients to reach their health care
goals.Job Duties/Responsibilities:The main purpose of the Endo/GI
nurse is to provide quality patient care according to Cambridge
Health Alliance and the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and
Associates standards of nursing practice. The role of the Endo/GI
nurse is to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document patient
care--in a professional manner. The GI nurse will demonstrate the
ability to provide care in procedural, pre-and post procedural, and
clinic settings.Qualifications//Education/Certification:Graduate of
an accredited school of Nursing RegistrationCurrent Massachusetts
RN license in good standing required.Bachelor of Science in Nursing
(BSN) degree preferred.American Heart
Association--BLS--and--ACLS--certifications
requiredABCGN--Certification is preferred.--Minimum 2 years current
experience as an Endoscopy RN required, experience with
administrating moderate sedation and recovery required.--Good
interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work with
detailed confidential material.--Experience with EPIC documentation
