Speech Language Pathologist Job DescriptionMass General Brigham
is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team
in Somerville, Massachusetts.Job Summary:We are looking for a
highly motivated and experienced Speech Language Pathologist to
provide evaluation and treatment to patients of all ages with
speech, language, cognitive-communicative, voice, and swallowing
disorders.Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess patients' speech, language,
cognitive-communicative, voice, and swallowing skills according to
organizational and professional guidelines.
- Develop and implement individually-tailored treatment plans
that reflect an understanding of patients' age and situation,
including discharge plans.
- Reassess patient status and modify treatment plans based on
patient progress towards stated goals.
- Document diagnostic findings and patient performance in
treatment programs, ensuring complete, timely, and accurate
documentation in accordance with facility and practice
guidelines.
- Prepare accurate billing to reflect care provided to
patients.
- Orient, train, and mentor Speech Language Pathology and health
care students to achieve stated performance expectations.
- Identify and act upon performance improvement opportunities to
implement best practices.
- Complete additional department, organization, or network
activities as established.

Excellence.Qualifications and Experience:
- Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from an
ASHA-accredited university program required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience for Advanced Clinician, 5
years for Clinical Specialist, and 10 years for Expert
Clinician.
- Licensed (and in good standing), or eligible for licensure, in
Speech Language Pathology by the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology
from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or meet
educational requirements for certification or is completing
Clinical Fellowship Year.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in
English.
- Basic skills in math and computer science.
- Appropriate knowledge of speech language evaluation and
treatment techniques to manage the rehabilitation population.
- Effective problem-solving skills for speech language
evaluation, interpretation, treatment planning, and execution,
taking into consideration patients' age, psychosocial, cultural,
and religious background.
- Basic skills in teaching others and self-assessment of learning
needs, strengths, and professional goals.
- Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury
to self or patients.
- Demonstrate the ability to assess and interact with patients
and families using theories of human growth and development, family
systems, and cultural background.
- Computer proficiency required, with Microsoft Office
applications preferred and ability to learn new software.
- Maintain a variable work schedule depending on hospital/program
needs to provide patient care (evening, holidays, weekend, and
