- can do 8's or 10's Job Description: Job Summary: The Surgical
Technologist performs a wide range of duties to assist the
circulating nurse and surgeon in the care of surgical patients.
This role is critical in ensuring a safe, sterile, and efficient
operating room environment. Under the supervision of licensed OR
personnel, the Surgical Technologist is responsible for supporting
surgical procedures from preparation through post-operative
clean-up. Responsibilities: · Assist the circulator and surgeon by
preparing the operating room with necessary instruments, equipment,
and supplies · Ensure maintenance of a sterile field and compliance
with infection control standards · Pass instruments, sponges, and
supplies during surgical procedures · Anticipate the needs of the
surgical team and respond promptly and effectively · Support
patient positioning, prepping, and transfer in collaboration with
the OR team · Handle specimens appropriately and ensure accurate
labeling · Maintain surgical equipment and monitor for malfunctions
or needed maintenance · Participate in operating room turnover and
case preparation · Adhere to proper documentation and safety
procedures · Comply with all State and Federal laws, regulations,
and facility policies governing the provision of health care ·
Participate in the on-call schedule as required Core Competencies:
· High school diploma or equivalent · Graduate of an accredited
Surgical Technology program · Current BLS certification (American
Heart Association or equivalent) · Knowledge of surgical
instrumentation and sterile technique
