Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: CVOR - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/06/2026 - Duration: 26 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Rotating, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 6, 2026 - Length: 26 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a 26-week travel contract at a large academic teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience with strong cardiovascular/open heart proficiency. Details - Large academic teaching hospital setting - Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) unit with potential float to other OR suites (General, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, etc.) in a circulator role only — scrubbing not required when floating - Patient population includes cardiovascular and open heart surgical cases - Schedule is three 12-hour day shifts (0645–1915) with flexibility required to meet unit and patient care needs - On-call requirements include one to two 12-hour weekday calls (1900–0715) per week and one full weekend of call every 5 weeks - No block schedules granted for any reason - Epic EMR experience required — must be within the past 2 years - Monday through Sunday work week Requirements - Active RN license in Vermont (VT) or a compact state — VT licensure not required at time of submission but must be applied for within 24 hours of acceptance; NY candidates accepted with proof of pending NY license - Current BLS certification required; CNOR preferred - Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience with recent, high-level competency in cardiovascular/open heart OR required - Large academic teaching hospital experience required - Prior travel nursing experience required - Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required — non-negotiable - Two professional references required: at least one from a Nurse Manager or Supervisor within the past 6 months, and one from within the past year of employment - SSN and DOB required for consideration - Reliable personal transportation required — public transportation is not accessible in this area; all-season or snow tires strongly recommended November through April Additional Information - Responsibilities include circulating in CVOR cases; when floated to other OR suites, circulation only — scrubbing not required - Bi-weekly Monday orientations available for onboarding - All employment gaps exceeding 90 days must be explained in your work history - Work history must include complete details such as bed count, EMR system, and facility type - This is a direct offer (IVS) position — no formal interview required American Traveler Job ID P-687218.
