EngineeringCambridge, MA, USAThe Payments Team in HubSpot's
Fintech group have made it their mission to deliver a set of
world-class payment systems that give our 120,000+ customers a
seamless and secure experience, allowing them to put their energy
into being able to "Grow Better". -Right now, the team is shaping
how we continue to expand our payments offering around the globe,
all while building a flexible, compliant platform. This includes:
growing our payment method offering, building strong fraud
protection into our systems, partnering with the Fintech
organization on maintaining global compliance, and innovating on
our Payments platform to move faster.The team is looking to welcome
a Technical Lead with a Backend view who is passionate about
developing and shipping world-class products, relating to how we
enable our customers to buy and pay for our products. -Teams in
HubSpot are kept small and nimble to maximize ownership and to
eliminate scale challenges and communication overhead (e.g. very
few meetings that could have been a Slack message!). -Our tech
stack is Java, React, some Go, AWS and Kubernetes, but regardless
of their background, we hire great engineers who love to learn.
-Our product teams are split-stack and can build whatever is needed
without external dependencies or approval. This process is informed
by many feedback loops: usability testing, direct customer
interactions, usage tracking, customer support and other
stakeholders, so the team decides what ideas to build, how best to
implement them and own their ongoing operation. Check out our

Lead on Fintech, Payments, you will:Lead a small team of engineers
where autonomy and flexibility are core valuesWrite and ship
production code that has meaningful user and business impactWork
with a small cross functional team of engineers, PMs, systems
analysts, designers, content designers, and researchersCollaborate
with HubSpotters all over the company, whether in engineering,
product, design, research, marketing, sales, etcHelp HubSpot users
meet their goals, via changes you've madeImplement experiments that
give us valuable insights into user behavior and how to improve
their experienceGet exposure to how HubSpot works as a businessWhat
we'd like to see:Some previous team, technical or pod lead
experience is preferred - managing engineers or projects and taking
responsibility for the team's software design and deliveryA
continued passion to contribute to the code base (we use Java but
it's not required to have experience with it) and for product
feature development and product innovationA strong focus on the
user: you can gain empathy for their challenges and understand how
they may flow through our productExcitement about big, technical
challenges, but also a passion for helping scale our
businessExperience working closely with, and contributing ideas and
feedback to, product management and systems analysts to help create
a solution to exceed our customers needsThe ability to work
collaboratively with the team to solve problems, transfer
knowledge, and develop overall product architectureComfort
performing code reviews for engineers at all levelsCoaching and
mentorship experienceA track record in partnering successfully with
