team!akamai's ETG (Edge Technology group) develops and operates
multiple services deployed on the cloud. These services collect,
process, and store data about every transaction that is executed on
Akamai edge. Our Network Systems group curates and processes data
from many sources to enable capacity-planning, business analytics,
decisions support, customer analytics, cost management, and
telemetry.Ensure world class Delivery performanceAs a Software
Engineer II, focusing on Data Engineering, you will be part of an
agile engineering team that will design and optimize how we work
with data, enabling efficient collection, processing, telemetry,
and visualization across ETG.As a Software Engineer II, you will be
responsible for:Understanding complex business needs and technical
challengesImplementing of highly available, scalable, and
performant data solutionsHelping create a long term data strategy
for Network SystemsDeveloping processes and applications to
monitor, analyze, maintain and improve data pipeline operation,
performance, and usabilityDo what you loveTo be successful in this
role you will:Have 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelors
degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information
Systems, another related field or its equivalentHave experience in
Python and SQLDemonstrate experience working with data and relevant
backend engineering practicesHave experience with ETL design,
implementation and maintenance (batch/stream)Have the ability to
query/process large datasets (Spark, Presto, Hive)Have familiarity
with Big data platforms (Teradata, Azure Datawarehouse, BigQuery
etc.)Have familiarity with Cloud/distributed implementations of
MySQL, Postgres etc.Work in a way that works for youWe recognize
