Job Description:
Year Up is seeking an enthusiastic Instructor for our Computer
Architecture & Systems Fundamentals Career Training Program,
designed to empower young adults by providing them with crucial
technical skills in computer systems. This role is pivotal in
guiding students through their curriculum, offering both
theoretical knowledge and practical training. The ideal candidate
will be responsible for delivering engaging instruction,
facilitating lab activities, and ensuring all students are prepared
for success in technical roles post-program. Passion for mentoring
and commitment to social change are key in this role, as you will
be instrumental in bridging the opportunity divide and enhancing
student potential through transformative education. Prepare and
deliver engaging lectures and coursework on Computer Architecture
and Systems Fundamentals. Develop and update curriculum and course
materials responsive to evolving industry standards. Assess student
progress through tests, assignments, and hands-on projects. Provide
guidance and mentorship to students, helping them prepare for
future career opportunities. Collaborate with peers and program
stakeholders to enhance the instructional strategies and overall
program effectiveness. Strong foundation in computer architecture
and system design Ability to teach complex concepts in an
accessible manner Experience with educational technologies and
virtual learning environments Strong organizational and
communication skills Commitment to the educational advancement of
under-resourced communities Certified to teach in the applicable
state or region Industry certifications in hardware, software, or
systems architecture (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco) are a plus
