You may contact 888-367-7223, option 5, for this role, you have the opportunity toEnsure excellence in sourcing, selection, application and support for electronic components for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), including actives, passives, discretes and connectors. You are responsible for (but not limited to)Work effectively with R&D for new product component applications and sustaining engineering for current and supported products; providing technology direction, advice and review for components-related topics in an effective and expeditious manner. Provide the perspective to balance component technical capability, long-range assurance of supply and cost. Advocate the utilization of the preferred and strategic supply base, and ensure multiple sources whenever possible. Manage new or replacement part requests, part data, and approved manufacturer lists. Manage part change notifications - assessing impact of change, relevance to currently used components and work with R&D to make appropriate decisions accordingly. Perform Bill of Materials reviews for lifecycle, RoHS, preferred sources, etc. Write and drive Engineering Changes (ECs). Advise on lead-free, RoHS and REACH topics. Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering and Product Lifecycle Data Management as needed on components, as well as at the sector and corporate levels. Support Procurement Department and Contract Manufacturers to resolve supply and quality issues. Determine inspection requirements when needed and work with Business Unit engineers on quality issue resolution. Stay current with component industry trends and provide insights to PCBA manufacturing and raw PCB topics as well.You are part of:MA/TC NAMTo succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree (BSEE) required, minimum of 7 years of experience in technical roles. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a components engineering role.Expertise with various PCBA components:Passive (resistors, capacitors, inductors, frequency control devices, etc.),Active (microprocessors, programmable devices, memory [DRAM, SRAM, flash], ASICs, etc.),Discrete (diodes, transistors, etc.),Board level connectors (I/O, board to board, IC, backplane, etc.)Demonstrated knowledge of typical leading manufacturers in the above commodities, with established relationships.Knowledge of the associated commodity, supply base, quality and data management considerations for managing PCBA components.Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes.Experience with electronic circuitry and applications for PCBAs. Understand current RoHS industry requirements, trends, and implications.Hands-on experience working with various IT systems required (i.e. ERP, database, web tools, database query tools and MS Excel)Experience in a regulated environment required (medical preferred) with electro-mechanical systems/products/solutions.Effective communicator and project manager.
