Under limited supervision, analyzes and significantly configures
software, applications, and programs from general requirements and
specifications. Modifies, tests, debugs maintain, and enhance
existing programs. Seen as a technical expert within the team, this
role analyzes complex technical problems and provides solutions.
May mentor junior team members.
Understands and begins to help document existing processes,
organization structures, architectures and external systems.
Identifies tools for deliverables; starts to participate in the
development of tools and methodologies and adapts them to the
organization environment. Begins to build peer to peer
relationships with colleagues, vendors and external contractors,
including offshore functions.
* Identifies design elements of new business processes and
package application design within a single business process.
Identifies designs for functional and technical requirements (e.g.,
gap analysis, infrastructure, interfaces, reports, enhancements,
and/or conversions). Begins to contribute to development and
enhancement of solutions for system gaps. * Configures single
module according to defined design specs & demonstrates a highly
proficient understanding of transactions and major configuration
options for a business process. Starts to identify the
interdependencies within the module to ensure development
activities are positively impacted. Documents architecture
development and standards. * May assist with development of one
program in a business process (e.g., interfaces, conversion,
customizations). In-depth understanding of development for a single
module or business process internally and offshore/near shore
capabilities. Understands and helps recognize areas that are in
scope and out of scope for a single module or business process.
Starts to raise scope issues and recommendations to management. *
Develops complex test scripts and assists coordinating test
transactional data creation. Identifies and researches complex
testing defects. Works to ensure converted data accuracy. Starts to
build test scripts for a business process. Uses testing tools
successfully for components within a single module or business
process within a mixed team. * Supports the Solutions Engineer in
implementation. Support can include but is not limited to; cutover
plans, post-implementation support, any issues/defects, transition
planning, and knowledge sharing efforts. * Bachelors or master's
degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent
experience. Generally, 5+ years of professional experience. *
Experience in data analysis and database querying (SQL). Experience
with Database configuration (DB2, MS SQL Server, etc.). Experience
with QA and/or automated testing is desired. * Previous development
experience is considered a plus. Candidate should have a Technical
or Business Systems background and strong analytical skills with
the ability to thoroughly document processes and requirements.
Knowledge of software development lifecycle is preferable. * Strong
facilitation and communication skills, and ability to work with the
business and stake holders. The candidate should be resourceful,
open-minded, and analytical and enjoy solving complicated problems,
focused on execution and attention to detail. * Should also possess
excellent interpersonal skills, be diligent and self-motivated,
with an eagerness to learn and excel in a high-paced environment;
an energetic go-getter with a can-do attitude.
