Somerville , Massachusetts , United States - Other Corporate - Full-time - COVID-19 remote Finch Therapeutics is a clinical-stage microbiome therapeutics company leveraging its Human-First Discovery platform to develop a novel class of orally administered biological drugs. With the capabilities to develop both complete and targeted microbiome therapeutics, Finch is advancing a rich pipeline of candidates designed to address a wide range of unmet medical needs. Finch's lead candidate, CP101, is in late-stage clinical development for recurrent -C. difficile infection (CDI). In June 2020, Finch announced that CP101 met its primary efficacy endpoint in PRISM3, the first of two pivotal trials to support the development of CP101 for the prevention of recurrent CDI. Finch is also developing CP101 for chronic hepatitis B, and FIN-211 for autism spectrum disorder. In partnership with Takeda, Finch is advancing FIN-524 and FIN-525 for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, respectively. Position Summary The Chief of Staff is a senior level role that directly supports and acts as a strategic partner to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Finch Therapeutics. In this role, you will provide critical managerial and organizational support to the CEO and COO. The Chief of Staff's primary focus is to assist in executing business and operational initiatives across the organization through effective communications with other executives and team members, establish and track key milestones, and facilitate effective meetings of executive governance bodies including the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team (ELT). The Chief of Staff has a high level of visibility with the ELT and will participate in development and implementation of corporate business and operational strategy, and in growing Finch as a diverse and inclusive workplace. This is a highly operational and facilitative position that requires a combination of strong business and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to play an active behind the scenes role. - Reports to: Chief Operating Officer Roles and Responsibilities Corporate Initiatives

  • Be a thought-partner and trusted advisor to the CEO and COO on business, organizational, and operational strategies and solutions.
  • Organize and prioritize critical issues and required information for the CEO and COO to facilitate efficient decision making.
  • Support the CEO and COO and ELT in strategic planning, policy development and decision-making.
  • Help to shape messaging and implement communications for the company on behalf of the CEO and COO and ELT.
  • Drive and execute complex and cross functional initiatives in a timely manner on behalf of the CEO and COO. Executive Leadership Team and Board Management
    • Partner with the CEO and COO and ELT to ensure that goals and objectives are being appropriately tracked and achieved, and that priorities are being communicated effectively.
    • Partner with ELT members to ensure milestones are established and communicated relating to key functional projects.
    • Manage senior leadership team meetings; provide guidance on agendas, coordinate presentations, ensure materials are sent in advance, manage attendees, ensure objectives are achieved, write and distribute meeting minutes.
    • Coordinate and support the planning of Board meetings and the preparation of Board meeting materials.
    • Facilitate the annual goal setting process and manage periodic goal status reviews.
    • Support the CEO and COO in the development of PowerPoint decks for Board Meetings, senior leadership team meetings, and company-wide meetings; manage the CEO report to the Board.
    • Compose and manage correspondence dealing with issues or subject matter that is highly sensitive and confidential.
    • Lead the planning of senior leadership team offsites and events. Qualifications
      • University degree in sciences or engineering required. Advanced degree or equivalent desired
      • 5+ years in drug development, life sciences, life sciences consulting, and/or healthcare industry
      • Proven ability to effectively partner with executive leaders in scientific/technical organizations
      • Proven ability to communicate and influence leaders of scientific and business functions
      • Proven experience in business operations and/or project management for complex projects at scale
      • Highly skilled in strategic thinking, planning, and execution
      • Passionate about building diverse and inclusive workplaces
      • Excellent written and verbal executive communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to create presentation materials and correspondence with a nuanced understanding of industry-specific subject matter and company standards
      • Exceptional influencing skills: consistent and proven track record of helping internal partners/stakeholders address strategic opportunities and solve problems; strong facilitation skills
      • Demonstrated ability to be effective in dealing with ambiguities; fast and effective problem solving
