experience insurance. The GRS Surety team is actively searching for
a Senior Data Engineer to join a distributed, dynamic agile team
and serve as a technical expert in designing, developing,
analyzing, and executing on our data strategy. This role will be a
part of our Surety Data Engineering team focused on delivering
exceptional value to our business partners across Surety and
Partnering with OneGRS. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work
collaboratively in an agile squad to design and build data
solutions in a Cloud-based environment, contribute to our global
strategy, train teams on data pipelines and management, lead data
modeling and have the opportunity to evolve our Surety Data team to
leverage modern technologies and apply them to our products. Our
goal is to deliver data products and services that enable our
business partners to use accurate, reliable, and trusted data to
enhance business outcomes, and deliver better services for

Summary In this role you will work as member of a scrum team and
collaborating with a geographically diverse business stakeholders
to develop and enhance complex data products from user stories and
technical/architectural specifications. You will analyze complex
technical system problems and create innovative solutions that
exceed customer expectations. You will be a vital member of an
established agile team helping to define the technical vision,
mentoring junior staff, performing hands on coding as well as
interacting with business stakeholders to understand their needs.
This is a highly visible role that allows you to share your
knowledge and skills with other developers and product teams in a
collaborative environment. This is a fast-paced environment
providing rapid delivery for our business partners. You will be

Work in a dynamic and exciting agile
environment with Product Owners and team members to develop
creative data solutions with that meet business and technical
initiativesAnalyze, develop, and execute data integration solutions
to manage the information lifecycle needs of an
organization.Actively participate and often lead peer development
and code reviews within each Agile sprint, with focus on test
driven development and Continuous Integration and Continuous
Development (CICD).Design and build data provisioning
workflows/pipelines, physical data schemas, extracts, data
transformations, and data integrations and/or designs using ETL and
API microservicesImprove speed to market by focusing on current
data needs as well as building out the long-term strategic data
solutions using AWS, as well as other modern data
technologiesDesign and develop programs and tools to support
ingestion, curation, and provisioning of complex enterprise data to
achieve analytics, reporting, and data scienceDemonstrate open
minded and collaborative approach to creating innovative technical
solutionsContinuously learn to maintain strong knowledge of
technology enablersMentor new and junior data engineersRecommend
process improvements that address technology gaps and improve data
reliability, quality, and efficiency
Bachelor's or Master's degree in
technical or business discipline or equivalent experience,
technical degree preferred5+ years of professional data engineering
experienceExperience with data practices and technologies including
data lake, data warehousing, data integration patterns (ETL,
services, messaging), analytics and BI platformsExperience with
cloud platforms including AWS (S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue,
Lambda)Experience with agile data engineering concepts and
processes, such as CICD, pipelines, and iterative development and
deploymentsExperience with data analysis, and data
modelingExperience with Python, Javascript functions and SQLStrong
analytical, problem solving, and communication skillsStrong
leadership, communication, collaboration skills with a track record
of taking solution ownershipMust be team oriented with strong
collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills required
Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative, and be a logical
