transformation was bringing all IT, Digital and Data functions
under a Global Chief Digital Officer reporting to Sanofi's CEO. The
new Digital organization has now finalized a 3-year strategy that
will drive business growth and reduce cost via efficiency.A
cornerstone of this program is the acceleration of the
digitalization of the research and development (R&D) processes
and the continuous improvement of its R&D tools and other
solutions. The acceleration of the adoption of digitalization,
automation and advanced data analytics and machine learning
solutions is indeed widely anticipated to help the corporation's
R&D organizations to gain differentiating insights and make
better, data-driven decisions, to de-risk and to accelerate its
end-to end R&D processes and, ultimately, to bring better drugs
and vaccines faster to the market and therefore improve and save
more lives.Position SummaryThe Head of Research & CMC Data
Platforms will work closely with Sanofi's Research scientists to
build digital research capabilities that deliver on the promise of
data, lean agile process, automation, and digital technology to
transform R&D outcomes. Working alongside the Sanofi Research
organization and the rest of the Sanofi Digital organization,
including software and data engineers and data scientists, the Head
of Research Data Platforms will ensure that all Research digital
platforms and solutions and their supporting services are delivered
to the highest standards of quality and performance and evolve in
lockstep with the Research activities. S/he will have full
accountability for strategy and execution of all Research data
products and programs focused on AI/ML and HPC (High Performance
Computing) and services for Research, across all Therapeutic Areas
and Regions. The success of this role is measured by increasing
Research value, end user experience, agility of architecture, and
speed of MVP build and scaled industrializationThe Head of Research
& CMC Data Platforms will therefore directly contribute to the
acceleration of Sanofi's R&D pace by bringing digital expertise
in Research and ensuring the design, delivery and ongoing support
of global Research solutions or 'Platforms' leveraging (among
others) Sanofi's enterprise global AI/ML platforms.Key
Responsibilities:In this role, you will:Coordinate and lead
definition of the Research Data Platforms program strategy and
roadmapFrame the program with appropriate organizational and
program structures: product owners, business leaders, program
governance, agile teams organization, communication and
budgetRecruit and manage a flexible and agile Research Platforms
team that matches the Sanofi culture for innovation, Sanofi first,
stretched objectives and patient centricityLead the delivery of the
roadmap and roll-out of new Research digital and data solutions and
platforms through agile and cross-functional teams of data
scientists, data engineers, scrum masters, software engineers,
product owners, and business analystsContribute to building the
Digital Hybrid delivery model: centralize and standardize R&D
platforms and solutions whenever possible while providing those
required bespoke solutions to and developing and supporting the
"R&D digital champions" located in, all major R&D
centersWork with internal and external stakeholders to ensure
security and regulatory compliance in the Research digital and data
solutions spaceManage the relationships of program teams,
stakeholders and vendorsValidate and manage the program resources,
guarantees their availability, and arbitrate if needed, resources
allocationsReport on program progress, issues and achievements both
to Digital R&D LT and Research LTProactively propose scenarios
and prioritization modifications in case of identified gaps,
specificities or risks, and facilitate alignment and endorsement by
the Digital R&D LT and Research LTFrom design to delivery,
ensure the Research data Platforms deliver sound business value to
Sanofi.The Research Data Platforms will be designed to support
prioritized Research use cases across Pharma and mRNA
(translational research, pre-clinical dev, small molecule, large
molecule, mRNA, oncology, immunology, neuro, etc.).Minimum Required
Skills: - 10+ years technology Leadership and Management
experience, within a large international andgeographically
distributed organization with cultural diversity.A solid
understanding of life sciences (in particular life sciences
R&D) work and data flows and supporting digital and data
solutions.Passionate about R&D in Life Sciences, able to
translate the company's mission to accelerate thedevelopment of
life saving drugs into digital and data strategies and associated
requirements for technology platforms and solutions.Experience
building roadmaps and prioritizing initiatives for transformation
programs in the R&D digital and data platforms and solutions
space.A highly skilled communicator able to act as a trusted
advisor to the Digital and Research leaders and oversee the design,
implementation, integration, and delivery of Research platform
solutions from the ground.Knowledge DevOps, DataOps and MLOps.Track
record of achieving high standards of execution across a diverse
range of solutions, services, andproject deliverables,
participating in the continuous improvement of the service
organization, its talent, its delivery processes and of the
technologies they are deploying.Someone who stays informed and
keeps up with the latest industry trends and best practices that
can subsequently be imparted on business, functional (R&D) and
Digital personnel for constant growth and optimal functional
performanceExpertise with data management and software engineering
practices, architectures, tools/technologies and delivery
managementExcellent oral and written communication.Presentation and
organizational skills, interpersonal skills to ensure efficient
relationship with all stakeholders.Proven ability to communicate
and present effectively to senior leaders, cross-functional and
cross-organizational teams.Proven ability to lead, collaborate and
influence teams without direct authority.Education: Bachelor's in
Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent, Certifications in
