Job Description:
Job Description Statement of Duties The IT Application Support
Specialist is responsible for performing technical application
support to assist departments and management with use of
information technology applications/platforms. This is accomplished
by performing technical support for the Munis ERP application
(includes general ledger, payroll, requisition/PO, tax, utility
billing, etc) and other departmental on-prem/cloud applications.
Employee performs numerous similar related duties. Essential
Functions: The essential functions or duties listed below are
intended only as illustrations of the various type of work that may
be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does
not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related,
or a logical assignment to the position. Support/resolve Munis ERP
application issues - technical and/or product based. Support and
resolve other application issues - technical and/or product based.
Work involves
evaluating/design/configuring/implementing/maintaining current/new
on-prem or cloud applications/systems. Translate business needs
into application solutions working with business owners to outline,
review and refine business requirements and related business
processes. Build intimate well rounded City application knowledge
to understand application/system dependencies. Design, build,
deliver, and document application reports and test plans. Deliver
and potentially present regular and customized training to teams
within the business. Manages the complete lifecycle of the Munis
ERP application used across the city. Manage and deliver the
required system deployment for each phase or stage of projects.
Ensure that quality is achieved as planned for each milestone of
the project. Monitor actual progress, compare to baseline, and
report progress against schedule. Manage and oversee projects for
completion on time and within budget. Report to respective
stakeholders and escalate, when necessary, on any unresolved
issues. Conduct and manage system integrations tests and User
Acceptance Tests. Monitor systems performance, availability,
reliability, and compliance to technical standard. Support users as
needed. Track and report on issues and problems with the systems
and follow-up with vendors and users on resolution. Assign duties
and communicate expectations and duties to ensure successful
implementation or project completion. Provide guidance and
direction regarding the creation of goals, action plans and
timelines as they pertain to department projects. Recommended
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree
and five (5) years experience; or any equivalent combination of
education, training and experience which provides the required
knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions
of the job. Knowledge, Abilities and Skill Knowledge: Previous
working knowledge of Tyler Technologies Munis ERP (currently,
Accounting, Budgeting, Payables, Contract Management, Purchasing,
Billing, Payroll, Human Resources, Collections, Document Management
and Administration) or other ERP applications. Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Product Suite including Outlook. Familiarity with
Microsoft Project or other scheduling software is desired.
Knowledge of one or more of the following Databases: SQLServer,
Oracle, MySQL, Informix, DB2, Filemaker, or MS-Access. Ability to
understand Database schemas and tables and run custom SQL queries
is preferred. Experience with Report Writer applications (Crystal
Reports, SSRS, etc.). Other technologies needs may include API
usage, Tableau, Adobe Sign, and Smartsheets. Knowledge of computer
hardware, software, networking and the technical aspects of
information systems including data processing methods, practices
and procedures. Independent judgment, skill and experience in
determining complex computer problems and coordinating
hardware/software solutions a must. Abilities: Ability to install
software, test functionality and maintain logs on project
activities, generate reports and communicate complex technical
details in terms that users can understand. Demonstrated
analytical/critical thinking capabilities and independent
decision-making and problem-solving abilities required. Ability to
patiently explain complex ideas to those with limited IT and
systems knowledge. Experienced in developing/writing/maintaining
documentation (technical/training/procedures) for
systems/applications for end users and IT. Skills: Extraordinary
customer service and relationship management skills. Comfortable
with designing and making presentations to groups large and small.
Experience with Virtual Meeting platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom,
GoTo, etc.). Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
with ability to maintain, manage, and organize records and
information. Skills associated with Software Deployment Life Cycle
Requirements, Deployment, Integration Testing, User Acceptance
Testing, and product acceptance including database design utilizing
some of the above listed database products. Work Environment The
work environment involves everyday discomforts typical of offices,
with occasional exposure to outside elements. Noise or physical
surroundings may be distracting, but conditions are generally not
unpleasant. Employee may be required to work beyond normal business
hours in response to attend evening meetings or complete work
assignments. Physical and Mental Requirements

Few physical demands are required to perform the work. Work effort
principally involves sitting to perform work tasks, with
intermittent periods of stooping, walking, and standing. May also
be some occasional lifting of objects such as office equipment and
computer paper (up to 30 lbs.) Motor Skills
Duties are largely mental rather than physical, but the job may
occasionally require minimal motor skills for activities such as
moving objects, operating a telephone, personal computer and/or
most other office equipment including word processing, filing and
sorting of papers. Visual Skills
Visual demands require constantly reading documents for general
understanding and analytical purposes. Hours:Full-Time
Salary:$81,182 annualized + benefits
