Job Description:

Minimum Knowledge and Experience:

• Must have high school diploma, GED or equivalent educational credential
• Trade and/ or vocational training preferred
• Requires one to three years manual labor experience
• Possesses valid driver's license. CDL and/or Hoisting License is preferred
• Construction-related experience preferred Skills:
  • Must be able to perform in a 24/7 transportation company with multiple shifts that may include weekend hours
  • Uses basic hand tools, lift, bend, stoop and carry heavy loads
  • Communicates successfully with variety of disciplines and levels, both internal and external staff Key Accountabilities (Essential Job Duties):
    • Demonstrates understanding and adheres to the KCS principles of Employee Engagement, Operational Excellence, Safety & Security, and Economic Performance
    • Constructs, maintains, repairs, and inspects track and Right of Way and other duties as assigned on the MBTA Commuter Rail System
    • Involves working outside in all types of weather conditions year-round, as assigned
    • Works well with others as well as alone as required
    • Subject to call outside normal shift
    • Works snow duty as required
    • Complies with all related safety rules and procedures and report all hazards as required
    • Attends and participate in all assigned training, specifically safety and security related
    • Completes other duties as assigned during emergencies Other Requirements Working Conditions (including Physical Demands)
      • Work involves walking, talking and hearing, climbing, balancing, lifting (up to 60 pounds), bending and driving
      • Noise Level- Loud
      • Shift Work- May be required to work off shifts for special projects
      • Travel- Daily travel to various Keolis Commuter Services sites
      • On-call - As per collective agreement
